Christmas Cards!!!
I have so much to share about our adoption…and I will, but I wanted to share about some ideas I have had running in my mind as we set our sights on the busiest time of the year. Our goal is to keep things simple (right) and be as organized and strategic as possible to insure that we feel the least amount of stress…at least that is the plan!
One source of anxiety each year is our Christmas cards…I don’t know why but I feel like I agonize over this annual card that most people look at, read and toss. But, I also know this is the way we use to chronicle another year and really capture the past year! Last year, I used Shutterfly and LOVED them. They have soo many options and the ability to customize many cards to your desire. The process was simple and easy and they arrived very quickly. Here is the inside of our card from 2010:

They have some great Christmas cards to choose from that I love or some Holiday Cards that are more fun and funky!
I think there are some great calendars and gift items on Shutterfly as well!
We will be using Shutterfly again this year and I am so excited to be able to share 3 promo codes for 25 FREE cards from Shutterfly!! What a blessing to be able to mark your Christmas cards off your list AND for FREE!!

I always try to keep the holidays simple, but it turns out to be so hard. It is very easy to get caught up in the moment. Here are a few of the things I try to do each year. 1) I shop all year long. I keep a list of people I need to buy for and gifts already bought in my purse. This normally saves us a ton of money! 2) We only give each child 3 gifts. 3) We (by we I mean Jason because I stink at this) try to say no. There are so many wonderful/fun/great parties and events around the holidays and we could be out doing something every day if we let our calender get that full. Sometimes you just have to politely decline. 4) We do a nativity advent calender, but no gifts. We try to make each night about counting down to Christmas and focusing on God’s gift of Christ.. the greatest gift!
Simple? HA! I try but don’t always do a good job. This year I’m planning on spending lots more time with the kids and letting them have fun. I normally can’t stand the chaos but I want them to have great memories of Christmas time, not how frazzled I was. This year I plan on making some gifts too. This year will be a big change as I plan on doing many different things. So, I’m sorry I have not tips for keeping it simple!
I try to do my shopping early which leaves me with a little less to worry about!
