Tag, I’m It
I am really behind on a tag I received last week from Deidre. She tagged me with the greatest one I have done thus far. I get to describe 5 things I love about Jesus. How cool is that! These are in no particular order!
he set my feet on solid rock,
and gave me a firm place to stand.” Psalm 40:2
He absolutely changed my life. He saved my soul for eternity. He pulled my from the pit and i am now standing on a firm foundation.
Matthew 10:30
He is personal. He knows me and there are things that only He and I share. He is
intimately aware of all I do, say and think. I love that there is no hiding
from Christ. My relationship with Him is mine alone, yet I get to share
Him with anyone. The best thing is that He is personal with all of creation.
:.. and to provide for those who grieve in Zion-
to bestow on them a crown of beauty for ashes,
the oil of gladness intsead of mourning, and a garment of praise
instead of a spirit of despair.
Isaiah 61:3a
He Redeems the pain, the hurt, the ugliness of our lives
and uses it for His Glory. He alone can make you clean and new.
He has redeemed me and turned the ashes of my life into a beautiful
offering for Himself. Nothing is wasted on the Lord.
“Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant,
and whoever wants to be first must be your slave-
jsut as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to
give his life as a ransom for many.“
Matthew20:26-28
He was and is unexpected. He was not what the Jews were looking for
as their Messiah. He gives a new definition for greatness that has
nothing to do with power, money, education, social standing, location
or birth order! He sent them spinning in their sandals trying to figure Him out!
I love that He uses our weaknesses to make us strong.
Our ability to please Him is all about dying to ourselves and putting others first.
This came from the Creator of the universe who showed us what servanthood
is truly about on the Cross.
“When the Son of Man come in his glory, and all the angels with him,
he will sit on his throne in heavenly glory.”
Matthew 25:31
He is GLORIOUS and He is my Hope.
He is coming again and my hope is built on the promise of His Word.
I only have a glimpse of His glory this side of Heaven
and I can not imagine what is will be like face to face!
The next Meme states that I am suppose to answer 5 questions that Deidre posted on her blog and then come up with 5 more of my own for others to answer. Here are my answers to her questions….
I think it is pretty close. I knew I wanted to be a wife and a stay at home mom. I knew I would be in ministry of some sort. I didn’t know I would marry a pastor that is for sure! But, I am so thankful for where we are and how my life has been blessed. The reality is better than the plan!
2. Why do you attend the church that you do?
The first would be because my husband is on staff! The main reason is because it is centered on the Word and Truth and challenges me in my faith. I love that a lot of the peripheral things of life and faith have been stripped away and I have a clearer understanding of what God is seeking in those who follow Him.
3. If given the choice, how would you spend tomorrow morning?
Sleeping in! Hands down, I would sleep uninterrupted until I chose to get up! Then, some time with the Lord, exercise and breakfast with my family. Cooked by someone else. Preferably by the beach.
4. What is your favorite bible verse at the moment?
Wow, that is a hard one! One that keeps coming to my mind over and over is Colossians 3:17
“Whatever you do in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” It is a reminder that everything I do is to be a reflection of Christ. I strive to do that with my family and with those I am around.
5. What’s your idea of a good vacation?
The beach with my family with good weather and lots of time by the ocean!
Here are my 5 questions:
1.What is one thing you splurge on for yourself?
2. What is one thing you are thankful for at the moment?
3.If you could go anywhere for week where would you go?
4. What are 3 qualities you want in a close friend?
5. What is one thing God is teaching you right now?
Since I have combined these tags, I will list several people and you can do one, both or none!

I loved reading this, Kelly.
I love Isaiah 61:3 – such a comfort that God takes all that is ugly in my life and restores me and uses it for His glory.
I, too, would sleep in in the morning. No such luck around here with these little girls. How did I end up with 2 girls that were such ‘morning people’? I’m not that at all.
And, I love Matthew 10:30. He is mindful of me! I love that.
We’re heading back to Myrtle Beach tomorrow. I have to tell you, I’m getting a little tired of all the sun, but my family does need time together.
Thanks so much for participating. I loved reading your answers.
I loved reading this- the verses you chose truly touched me. Thanks for sharing this…
